4. FIRST AID MEASURES

Inhalation Remove the victim from the source of exposure. If the victim is not breathing, apply artificial resuscitation.
Ingestion Do NOT induce vomiting. Give water to drink. Seek medical attention.
Skin Remove contaminated clothing and launder before re-use. Wash affected skin with water.
Eye Hold the eyes open and flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.

Specific Hazards As this product is an oil-in-water emulsion, it is not flammable under the conditions of use and does not support combustion. However, if the emulsion breaks then the flash point of the solvent layer will be that for White Spirit, which is 35°C (ASTM D-56).

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Spills & Disposal Personnel involved in cleaning up any spills are to wear gloves and goggles. If there is the possibility of a fire, then personnel should also wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Cordon off the spillage area. Isolate the source of the spillage or leak. Contain the spillage using a suitable non-flammable absorbent material such as sand or diatomaceous earth, and then transfer into sealed plastic containers for disposal.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

Inhalation Does not present an inhalation hazard. The exposure standard for White Spirit is 790 mg/m³ (TWA) (Source: NOHSC, under review). However, under normal storage and use conditions this standard will not be reached.
Ingestion Irritant. Oral LD50 (rat) > 2000 mg / kg for White Spirit.
Skin Essentially non irritating. Dermal LD50 (rat) > 2000 mg / kg for White Spirit. Primary irritation index for White Spirit (rabbit): greater than 0.5 but less than 3.0.
Eye Mild eye irritant. Draize score for White Spirit: greater than 6 but less than 15.
